| Elements of Cinematic Expression : Light Lens Color Camera Exposure Composition Our discussion of Cinematic Expression confines to its basic elements of cinematography. In many respects cinematic sequence compares to a symphony where each instrument plays individual part that constitues important element of the overall, cohesive entity. Needless to say, not only playing "in tune" is important, but also musical arrangement in terms of instrument choices. Arrangement determines about closeness of the interpretation to the real theme of Work. It seems the similarities between both creative processes in Film and Music are very obvious. In creative cinematography, instruments at our disposal are the Elements of Cinematic Expression. To play in tune means that the applied choices need to serve common purpose. It is up to Director's and Cinematographer's discretion that choices made relate to the quality of the emotion to be described. |
